Bell Pond

Bell Pond is located on the top of Belmont Hill in Worcester, Massachusetts. During 1983 from May through October, nearly every afternoon until sunset, I documented the community of people that frequented this inner-city park. By the end of the season I accumulated 1,000 photographs. It was the first body of work that legitimized my career as a documentary photographer. It concluded in 1984 with an exhibition in Worcester at the Grove Street Gallery.
